DSRIP Medical Records Review Process

As a required part of the DSRIP process, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has contracted Verisk Health to conduct medical record review (MRR) of a random sample of all PPS participants across the State, including network partners of the CNY Care Collaborative.

Recently (or in the near future) someone within your organization may have received a fax/letter from Verisk Health requesting medical records regarding Medicaid members that meet specific clinical qualifiers.

In particular, Verisk is collecting PPS baseline data regarding Screening for Clinical Depression (SCD) and Controlling High Blood Pressure (CBP). At least one, and possibly both, of these measures may apply to your organization.

Unfortunately, this is not an optional process and neither PPSs nor partner organizations have the ability to decline to participate. We ask for our partner organizations’ understanding and cooperation in this crucial activity.

To learn more about this process, you can review the Process Overview Training and FAQ provided by the NYSDOH.
