March 4, 2016 -- Today, the New York State Department of Health (DOH) and the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) in conjunction with the Governor’s Office announced recipients of capital awards to help strengthen the healthcare system across the state.
The Capital Restructuring Financing Program (CRFP) is a $1.2 billion-dollar State grant program created by Governor Cuomo for capital projects that enhance the quality, financial viability, and efficiency of the healthcare delivery system. The CRFP program was developed to support the goals of the Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP).
Today’s announcement includes grant awards for 73 projects totaling $672.9 million, and reflects a portion of CRFP funding for capital investments. In the Central New York Region, St. Camillus Residential Healthcare, Liberty Resources Inc., and SUNY Upstate Medical University received grant awards totaling $71 million dollars. The total funding for the region represents the third highest percentage of grant awards given to any region across the state.
In addition to the CRFP awards, capital funding under the Essential Health Care Provider Support (EHCPS) Program was announced. The EHCPS program provides funding for long-term financial sustainability and the preservation of innovative models of care. Awards totaling $355 million was distributed across the state with several Central New York organizations receiving funding. Oneida Healthcare System, Auburn Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, Rome Hospital, Rochester Primary Care Network, and Lewis County General Hospital received awards totaling over $29 million.
“I’d like to congratulate all of our partner organizations that received funding through the CRFP and EHCPS grant awards today”, said Ginny Opipare, Executive Director of the Central New York Care Collaborative (CNYCC). “These investments will support local efforts to coordinate care and provide better outcomes for patients throughout our community”.
